Petrochemical & Refining
Live Asset Thermal Inspection
Radiometric thermal and close visual inspection of stacks, tanks, pipe racks, cooling systems and electrical distribution while the plant runs. No scaffold, no shutdown, no personnel at height.
Alberta's Industrial Heartland
Refineries and upgraders, municipal infrastructure, and the northern resource corridor that runs out of Edmonton toward Fort McMurray and the Peace.
Industrial Aerial Solutions provides drone LiDAR, photogrammetry, thermal imaging and infrastructure inspection in Edmonton and across central and northern Alberta. The Edmonton region includes Alberta's Industrial Heartland around Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park and Redwater, one of the largest concentrations of petrochemical and refining capacity in Canada, along with municipal infrastructure across the capital region and the highway and rail corridors running north toward Fort McMurray and the Peace Country. Thermal inspection and 3D facility documentation are the dominant requirements in this region.
01 / The Local Picture
Every region has a reason the work is different here. This is ours.
The Industrial Heartland is full of assets that are expensive to take offline and dangerous to climb. Flare stacks, tank farms, cooling systems, pipe racks and electrical distribution all need periodic inspection, and every hour of shutdown or scaffold time is a real cost.
Aerial thermal and close visual capture inspects those assets while they run. The H20N payload records radiometric thermal alongside optical imagery, so an overheating connection or a failing insulation section is documented with an actual temperature value and a location, not a note in a logbook.
The same platform produces 3D as built documentation of the facility for expansion planning, clash checking and environmental compliance records, from the same flight that did the inspection.
02 / Local Applications
Covering Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, St Albert, Spruce Grove, Leduc, Redwater and Alberta's Industrial Heartland.

Industrial Facilities
Point cloud and 3D model capture of facility sites for expansion planning, clash detection, brownfield engineering and environmental compliance documentation.
Municipal Infrastructure
Condition and terrain data across capital region infrastructure: road and bridge inspection, drainage and stormwater terrain modelling, and dated documentation of capital projects.
Northern Corridors
Corridor and site capture along the highway, rail and resource routes running north from Edmonton, with remote site work quoted on request.
03 / Capabilities
Dense point clouds and bare earth terrain models, including under canopy.
Orthomosaics, digital surface models and true to scale 3D models.
Radiometric heat data for electrical, mechanical and building envelope faults.
Close visual and thermal inspection without a lift, a shutdown or a crew at height.
04 / FAQ
Industrial Aerial Solutions operates from Abbotsford, British Columbia and mobilizes to Edmonton for scheduled project work. Travel and mobilization are quoted transparently as part of the project, not hidden in the day rate. For jobs outside the Lower Mainland the quote states the mobilization cost as a separate line.
Aerial photography and video runs $250 to $1,200 per shoot. Everything else is quoted per project, on area, required accuracy, terrain, canopy, travel and deliverable list. NDVI mapping, LiDAR, photogrammetry and thermal inspection are each scoped individually, and municipal and government work is normally contract based.
Yes. Industrial Aerial Solutions holds a Transport Canada Advanced RPAS certificate, the higher of Canada's two certificate levels, and is qualified for controlled and restricted airspace operations including obtaining Special Flight Operations Certificates where a site requires one.
No. IAS supplies centimetre level geospatial data products for decision support. IAS is not a licensed BC Land Surveyor and does not perform legal surveys or boundary determinations. The two work together: IAS collects dense aerial data quickly over large areas, and your surveyor or engineer reviews, marks up and certifies it.
