Drone Services in Kamloops

Mining and aggregates, ranch and range land, rail corridors along the Thompson, and an interface that burns. Dry, open terrain that aerial survey handles extremely well.

Industrial Aerial Solutions provides drone LiDAR, photogrammetry, stockpile volumetrics and thermal imaging in Kamloops and across the Thompson Nicola region of interior British Columbia. The Kamloops area combines open range and grassland, active mining and aggregate operations, the CN and CP rail corridors along the Thompson River, and a significant wildland urban interface. Sparse canopy over much of the region means both LiDAR and photogrammetry produce excellent terrain data, and the region's mining and aggregate sector is a natural fit for repeatable aerial volumetric measurement.

01 / The Local Picture

Open Country Is
Good Country to Fly

Every region has a reason the work is different here. This is ours.

  • The Thompson Nicola is dry, open and largely free of the dense coastal canopy that complicates aerial survey west of the Coast Mountains. Grassland, sagebrush, open pine and exposed rock all photograph and scan cleanly, which means larger areas per flight hour and a lower cost per hectare than the same job on the coast.

  • It is also mining and ranching country. Open pit operations, aggregate pits and large land holdings are exactly the kind of asset where repeat aerial measurement beats ground crews outright: one flight measures the entire pit, every stockpile and every haul road at once, and the next flight three months later is directly comparable.

  • The interface fire risk adds a second use. Thermal capability and LiDAR derived fuel and terrain data support fuel mitigation planning, post fire assessment and hazard mapping around communities and infrastructure in the region.

What We Fly
Around Kamloops

Covering Kamloops, Logan Lake, Merritt, Cache Creek, Chase, Barriere and the Thompson and Nicola valleys.

Mining & Aggregates

Pit Volumetrics and Progress

Pit and stockpile measurement on a repeatable cycle. Multi temporal point clouds quantify material moved between visits, validate blast performance and give operations a monthly inventory number that reconciles rather than a walk around estimate.

Ranch & Range

Land, Water and Fence Line Mapping

Whole property orthomosaics and terrain models on large holdings. Useful for water development, range condition, fence line planning and documenting grazing infrastructure across ground that takes a day to drive.

Rail & Transportation

Corridor and Slope Capture

The Thompson canyon rail and highway corridors sit under active slope hazard. Aerial LiDAR captures the slope face and track or road prism together for stability assessment and clearance analysis without occupying the corridor.

Wildfire & Interface

Fuel and Post Fire Terrain Data

Canopy height and fuel structure data for interface fuel mitigation planning, and rapid terrain and thermal capture for post fire assessment and rehabilitation planning.

Questions About
Working in Kamloops

Industrial Aerial Solutions operates from Abbotsford, British Columbia and mobilizes to Kamloops for scheduled project work. Travel and mobilization are quoted transparently as part of the project, not hidden in the day rate. For jobs outside the Lower Mainland the quote states the mobilization cost as a separate line.

Aerial photography and video runs $250 to $1,200 per shoot. Everything else is quoted per project, on area, required accuracy, terrain, canopy, travel and deliverable list. NDVI mapping, LiDAR, photogrammetry and thermal inspection are each scoped individually, and municipal and government work is normally contract based.

Yes. Industrial Aerial Solutions holds a Transport Canada Advanced RPAS certificate, the higher of Canada's two certificate levels, and is qualified for controlled and restricted airspace operations including obtaining Special Flight Operations Certificates where a site requires one.

No. IAS supplies centimetre level geospatial data products for decision support. IAS is not a licensed BC Land Surveyor and does not perform legal surveys or boundary determinations. The two work together: IAS collects dense aerial data quickly over large areas, and your surveyor or engineer reviews, marks up and certifies it.
